This looks like an Android bug because the app is supposed to work that way. We’ve identified it and are working on a fix right now! Thank you for bringing it to our attention. We’ve added a new “group photo import” tool to the app, so once we get this bug fixed, it will be extremely easy for you to add backlog photos to create journal entries with accurate dates and locations.
