I was hoping you could merge the falling fruit app like one comment said but also merging the wildly used inaturalist app would really make this app second to none for foraging. How is the range map developed? It's seems ultra specific is it microclimate data? Where is it imported from?

Phase 1 of the personal maps feature is here! I’m looking forward to all of you getting to use this. We have a lot of added improvements in mind that we’re working on, but for now, I’d love to hear your thoughts as you use it! Make sure to update to the latest version: 1.4.0, to use the new maps!
Would love to have a map to click on and forgeable plants in that area would come up (which you could then click on each name to get all of the wonderful info you have curated). I understand there is vacation mode but to browse you have to keep going in and changing the city over and over. This would be fun and especially helpful in areas, like Memphis (which is mainly delta), that are very close to other areas with very different habitats/ecosystems/etc

This is in the works! First, we’re working on the journal feature, which would allow users to add entries of forageables they find, and from there, we’ll move to creating a map that everyone will be able to see them on. (Sharing would be strictly opt-in)

I think something like a community map could be good too. Like the old falling fruit app. That way when people find stuff in your area you can all find it together. This app is meant to be an on-ramp for beginners and finding things to forage can be very intimidating for people like me.

I think that would be cool! Of course, adding one’s spots to the map would be optional, but for people who want to, it would add a nice community aspect to the app!

I use this feature in SEEK, but it’s not very accurate.
