Using Travel Mode

If you are planning a trip and want to know what you may be able to forage where you are going, Gather has you covered!

With “Travel Mode,” you can see all the amazing species you’ll find at your travel destination without affecting any of the notifications that you’ve set up for your “home” location.

How to enter travel mode

From the profile page, tap “My City,” which will bring up the city search page. The city suggestions will automatically update as you type. Once you see the city you are looking for, tap it to go there.

The app will now ask you if you want to enter travel mode or switch your location permanently. Here, you’ll want to hit “Travel Mode”. This will allow you to view the species in that area without any permanent changes taking place.

When you are in travel mode, you’ll see indicators like an airplane next to the location in the month view.

Using travel mode

Now, you can explore all of the species and timings that are available for the location you have virtually traveled to.

You’ll notice that setting notifications is disabled while in travel mode. This is because we currently only support notifications for your home location.

To exit, go back to the profile page and simply click “Exit travel mode.” You’ll be brought back to your home location.
